| Race Summary |
|
SALINO broke outward at the start, pressed the pace
on the outside, took the lead while lugging out a bit on the turn,
inched clear into the final furlong and was fully extended to last
under strong right hand urging. FRESH moved in near the half-mile
pole then was well placed on the inside, dropped back midway through
the turn, moved out at the top of the stretch, rallied into the
final furlong and closed well but just missed. SABRA was well placed
just off the pace, came three wide into the stretch, loomed a threat
in the final furlong but lacked the needed kick and settled for the
show. SEVENDAYSMAKEAWEEK was urged along while off the pace, raced
three then four wide on the turn, held a good striking position into
the final furlong but also lacked the needed kick. IDEAL VICTORY was
ridden along while off the pace, moved out near the half-mile pole,
raced three to four wide on the turn and failed to rally. SUPERIOR
THIEF set the pace under pressure, lost the lead midway through the
turn and gave way. SPRING OF LIFE raced well back in the field, was
in a bit tight near the half-mile pole, saved ground on the turn and
failed to threaten. STORMY FUSE broke a bit slow, was forced out
near the half-mile pole, raced four to five wide on the turn and was
no factor. |
