Race Summary

IRISH CHIEF raced four wide on the turn then rallied to move up to the leader, was in a long drive and drew off in late stretch. COAHUILA dueled for the lead while two wide, was in a long drive then weakened in the stretch drive but held the place safe in the end. WAITINGFORDAYLIGHT was unhurried early then started a run on the turn, circled the field while eight wide then closed willingly in late stretch. SHILOH'S DREAMMAN was three wide heading into the turn then steadied in the middle of the turn, angled inside then was blocked in mid stretch and split rivals and made a mild gain. ONACAT broke in a tangle then was settled, rallied two wide in the stretch but was no threat in the end. WASPY CEE was four wide into the turn then was in tight and dropped back then made a mild bid in the stretch drive. EXPECT MORE saved ground on the turn and made a bid to upper stretch but came up empty for the drive. SEYMOUR NAEVUS dueled for the lead while inside, was hard used then weakened in the stretch drive. BLUE CRUSADER was unruly in the gate throwing his rider then was settled down, raced six wide on the turn then faltered in the drive. CAPTAIN KIRK was angled inside on the turn and lacked a rally in the stretch drive. ITRON EXPRESS chased the pace while two wide, was used up and gave way on the turn. DYNAMIC KRIS bobbled soon after the start then was outrun.

Race Summary

WACO ZONE stalked the pace while racing two wide on the backstretch, rallied on the far turn and moved up to take command then drew off in mid stretch then was kept to task in late stretch to hold sway. SPOONERISM was unhurried early then started a run into the far turn while four wide then was five wide leaving the turn and lugged in slightly bumping with WINNING FORUM and knocked sideways then was gaining ground in late stretch but was second best. EL DAYJUR was settled in the early going and moved up the inside on the far turn while saving ground, rallied along the inside in the stretch and was gaining ground to finish well in the end. SOUTHERN MONEY set the early pace under good handling, was in a long drive on the far turn and weakened in the stretch. ROCKY ON THE RED was stalking the pace while racing inside on the run down the backstretch, started a run on the far turn then angled outside in mid stretch and bumped with WINNING FORUM then hung in late stretch. EXCLUSIVE NIGHT was unhurried early then moved outside on the far turn and fanned out to be six wide for the stretch run and passed tiring rivals in late stretch. RIVER RISING was settled early while racing three wide on the backstretch then made a bid on the far turn, was moving up between rivals and was forced to steadied sharply and be taken up losing all chance. SHANES LIGHT was two wide on the backstretch then made a bid on the far turn but was no menace in the stretch. SPEEDY RICKY was unhurried early then swung out to be seven wide in upper stretch and was no factor. WINNING FORUM was settled early then rallied three wide on the far turn making a strong bid to upper stretch then was bumped hard from both sides in mid stretch and stopped in late stretch. A stewards inquiry was held concerning the stretch run. After reviewing the films, ROCKY ON THE RED was disqualified from fifth and placed seventh for interference in mid stretch.
