| Race Summary |
|
GATHERING GOLD tracked the pace from the just off
the rail in the early going, advanced inside near the half to be
challenging for command once on the second turn, quickly drew clear
in the upper stretch but shortened stride late and just did hold.
WHENTHEWINDBLOWS was permitted to settle early, saved ground on both
turn and rallied into the stretch, shifted out for the drive and was
closing steadily to just miss. ATTRIBUTION stalked the pace three
wide to the second turn and gradually faded. MAJESTY RIDGE raced
unhurried early while well off the rail, commenced his bid two wide
on the second turn but lacked the needed response. ANZIYAN HOLIDAY
set all of the pace from off the rail, met the winner's bid into the
second turn, dueled to the head of the lane and weakened. MARCOLA
was never a factor. TAGUS showed little. COLD N TRICKY stalked the
pace four wide for a half mile and came up empty.

|
BROTHER DEREK broke in and bumped the runner-up,
went four wide into the first turn then angled in and dueled outside
a rival, kicked clear on the second turn and held on gamely under
good handling while being shown the whip. YOUR TENT OR MINE bumped
at the start, stalked outside a rival, loomed behind the winner in
the stretch and continued willingly but could not catch that one.
BOB AND JOHN stalked inside, came off the rail on the second turn,
was roused nearing the stretch, came three deep into the lane and
bested the others. A. P. WARRIOR pulled his way along four wide into
the first turn, chased outside, came three deep into the stretch and
lacked the needed rally. OLD THUNDER had speed between horses then
dueled inside, stalked along the rail on the second turn and
weakened in the stretch. JEALOUS PROFIT three deep early, chased
between horses then a bit off the rail, found the inside leaving the
backstretch and could not offer the necessary response. ECRU EGRET
was allowed to settle a bit off the rail and failed to menace.
KOBAYASHI bumped, steadied sharply and squeezed back at the start,
pulled inside, dropped back nearing the second turn, gave way and
was eased in the stretch. A claim of foul by the rider of the
runner-up against the winner for alleged interference at the start
was not allowed by the stewards, who ruled the contact between that
pair was not sufficient to alter the original order of finish.

PROPOSED had speed between foes then prompted the
pace inside, took a short lead leaving the backstretch, inched away
on the second turn and drew clear under a brisk hand ride while
being shown the whip. SHIMMER unhurried off the inside early, began
to advance on the second turn, came out into the stretch and was
clearly second best. FAST NAVY (BRZ) had speed three deep then
dueled outside the winner, stalked that one on the second turn and
weakened but held third. RUN FOR DESSERT chased inside, and weakened
in the stretch. PEGASUS ROSE chased inside then a bit off the rail,
continued outside a rival on the second turn and three deep into the
stretch and gave way. |

DANCE GLORY ran off briefly during post parade then
raced a forward factor to the stretch, drove three wide for the
drive for a clear lead inside the furlong grounds then held sway in
the late stages. SEFAS GOLD rated just off the leader for three
quarters, stuck his head in front at the quarter pole but was
outfinished in the late going. SILVERDALE was slammed hard from both
sides at the start then was outrun early, rallied around the turn in
a good effort despite his terrible start. NEW AWAKENING bore out at
the start then was well placed and never far back but lacked a late
response. BOONESBORO ROAD showed good speed, dueled to the quarter
pole from inside and tired. CHIEF EDITOR bore in at the start
slamming rival, had no speed and improved position late. BANFF never
far back but failed to menace. DANCIN SKEEANNO was through after a
half. TRADE AGREEMENT was never close. DOUBLE BULLY dropped back
early. CAPTAIN TREY was always outrun. |

EYES ON EDDY tucked in behind leaders to the turn,
waited for room at the quarter pole then angled out just past that
point and responded to pressure and quickly drew off through the
stretch as much the best. MALAYSIA (GB) showed good speed while
three wide to deep stretch but was no match to the winner but held
the place spot gamely. MISS WELLSPRING raced within striking
distance for three quarters, gained a short lead approaching the
furlong pole but did not have enough late to go on. WINNING SEASON
came out running and quickly angled over to vie for the lead then
tired from inside through the stretch run. STRIKE ME LUCKY showed no
speed and improved position while no real threat. REGALE raced
evenly and lacked a late response. KRISTY BEETHOVEN failed to
menace. DISTURBING was through after a half. DOWRY had good speed to
duel for three quarters then gave way in the stretch run. ARABIAN
SPELL (IRE) raced evenly to the stretch and dropped back. HOLD A
MOONBEAM was never in contention, pulled up in distress after a half
and vanned off. |

|
PAT'S BOY stalked the leaders three wide to the
half, was put to a drive into the second turn, rallied three wide to
the stretch then was under very vigorous right handed pressure
through the lane and eventually caught COLD N TRICKY in the late
stages. COLD N TRICKY was hustled to the front and set a pressured
pace to the second turn, responded to urging to the stretch, fought
off the winner's run to deep stretch then was collared in the very
late stages. RIVER GETAWAY had no speed and settled just off the
rail to the second turn, tried to rally two wide to the stretch but
could not make an impact. DANCES WITH CZARS put steady pressure on
COLD N TRICKY from the rail to the second turn, continued his
pressure to mid stretch then weakened. TAGUS had no speed, came two
then three wide to the stretch but finished evenly late. MARCOLA
bobbled in the first stride out of the gate then was bumped and
jostled between rivals, clipped heels and stumbled briefly nearing
the finish line the first time and was always outrun. PRIVATE TOUR
was not a factor. |

| Race Summary |
|
SIENNA CHIMES vied for the lead outside, two wide
through the turn and edged clear inside the final furlong. COPE'S
ANGEL disputed the pace inside from the beginning but wore down in
the late going. ON GOLDEN WINGS progressed between horses to gain a
striking position on the turn, lacked a stretch bid but held onto
the show. COMPLETE PRIDE advanced between foes, came five wide into
the lane and showed a willingness to run late. CHISPA DE GOLD
steadied when her path was taken nearing the half mile pole, was
altered in shortly after that and lacked a stretch bid. DANCE IN
SEATTLE raced in midpack between rivals, failed to keep up on the
turn and also had no rally. HOLLYWOOD MOOD jostled with APRIL STORM
ASHORE nearing the half mile pole, was checked, altered out,
advanced on the turn but gave way through the stretch. MONEY MAKIN
JONES stayed well off the rail and was never a factor. IRONIC NATIVE
showed little in a wide trip. SANDIAS SWEETHEART hopped at the start
and never reached contention. IDOITMYSELF fractious behind the gate,
also showed little in her race. APRIL STORM ASHORE pressed the early
pace from inside, quit on the turn and was eased through the stretch
and walked off. |
