| Race Summary |
|
GOING WILD sped to the early lead and angled in,
set the pace on a clear lead along the inside and held sway under
left handed urging. ONLY IN RENO broke inward, angled in and stalked
inside on the backstretch and turn and edged a rival for second.
ATTILA'S STORM broke alertly then stalked between foes or outside a
rival to the stretch and was edged for the place. STORM WOLF in
tight at the start, chased off the rail or outside a rival, came
three deep into the stretch and improved position. GREENGETSTHETRICK
stalked three deep then off the rail leaving the turn, came three
wide into the stretch, drifted in through the drive and weakened.
SUREFIRE SUCCESS saved ground chasing the pace, came out into the
stretch and lacked the needed response. WHAT'S THAT SOUND allowed to
settle inside, moved up along the rail leaving the turn and was not
a serious threat. BAROMETER RISING between foes early, settled a bit
off the rail, angled in on the turn and failed to menace. HANDSOME
MICHAEL K was in a good position chasing outside on the backstretch
and turn, came three deep into the stretch and weakened. LION CAT
dropped back outside early, went four wide into the turn and three
deep into the stretch and did not rally. FROSTMARK steadied when
crowded at the start, moved up between horses then chased a bit off
the rail and weakened in the stretch. ANXIOUSLY AWAITING stalked a
bit off the rail, dropped back on the turn, gave way, was eased and
fell nearing the wire. NEVER AT DUSK stumbled badly at the start and
lost the rider. The stewards conducted an inquiry into the start
before ruling that NEVER AT DUSK was the cause of his own trouble.
