Race Summary

BOOM BOOM BUBBA cleared the field soon after the start and was two wide into the first turn, tried to move away from the field at the three-eighths pole, finally edged away at the top of the stretch and was kept under a right-handed drive for the win despite drifting out slightly in deep stretch. ONLY MAN IN TOWN settled behind the leaders three wide on the opening turn, maintained that position before beginning to move at the leaders while four wide on the final turn, rallied for place. MAKE IT REAL was two wide on the opening turn and ridden along to chase the pace at the half-mile pole, continued to save ground through the final turn, angled out at the top of the stretch to find room but hung in the final yards. TRIOFIELD content to race near the back, saved ground, maintained that position until reaching the top of the stretch, angled out and made a strong late rally outside. FOOLISH STORM settled two wide on the first turn, was three wide on the final turn, made a bid but lacked the needed kick. CAPTAIN KIRK was five wide on the first turn, advanced along the inside but had no rally. ROUGH EDGE settled along the rail to save ground but posed no serious threat. WACO ZONE cleared much of the field after the start to be three wide on the first turn, stalked the leaders, was two wide on the final turn and had nothing left. ONE SLEET DEAL cleared the field and challenged for the lead while three wide on the first turn, remained in that position on the second turn but had nothing left. HUNTING BAG let others move to the front out of the starting gate yet was five wide on the opening turn and showed little after that. CAPTAIN KITE was two wide on the first turn while settling in midpack and was no menace. TEXAS JET got off to a slow start, was five wide on the first turn and was soon done.
