Race Summary

FALL SEMESTER stalked the pace for six furlongs, rallied four wide in the drive and wore down the leaders in the final strides. MANE MACHO chased the leader from the outset, bid outside that one after six furlongs, drew even late before being caught on the wire. SPOTLIGHT SCAM came out start, set a solid pace then resisted gamely to late before just hanging. SIR PRIZE U was brushed at the break, made a middle move through the second turn but failed to sustain that rally. ONE PUNCH SONNY raced wide early, pressed the pace for six furlongs then faded. SLIEVE CENTURY failed to menace. JZ'S GOLD SPLENDOR was no factor. CRAZY HORSE WILL showed little. There was a stewards inquiry and claim of foul by the rider of SIR PRIZE against SPOTLIGHT SCAM but there was no change in the original order of finish.

AT LEAST A MIRACLE set a pressured pace inside for half a mile then stopped. MR. VANDERBILT raced near the inside just off the pace and faltered. SLIEVE CENTURY was always far behind. KANZEL made a brief bid after half a mile then gave way readily.

BLAZEN was void of early speed then passed tiring rivals. BALTIC SHORE made a middle move then flattened out. DETERMIND STAND raced evenly. HAVINABREW chased into the stretch then faded. SLIEVE CENTURY moved up outside rivals on the far turn then was under strong handling to run down the leaders and edge clear late. TWISTER CROSSING, well placed racing close up outside, moved up leaving the far turn and loomed boldly in the stretch but was not good enough. CHASE MY HEELS, well placed racing close up inside, was no match for the top two. CASEY'S EMBLEM prompted the pace two wide, moved to challenge on the far turn then faded in the drive. FINAL STRAW failed to menace. GRAND PAL saved ground setting the pace for six furlongs then weakened. MISTY SURPRISE showed little. ACROSS tired.

Race Summary

CRANBERRY broke alertly, set a moderate pace, shook clear after six furlongs then just lasted late. BODYSHOTS was slow to settle, fanned four side out of the second turn then finished willingly outside the winner to just miss. EDGE APPEAL stalked the pace early, bid after five furlongs then weakened in the drive. SONREA chased early, bid four wide then flattened out. DEPUTY WANTED saved ground but had no rally. SLIEVE CENTURY was no factor. GULCH POINT showed little. CAREERIST stopped.
