|
FALL SEMESTER stalked the pace for six furlongs,
rallied four wide in the drive and wore down the leaders in the
final strides. MANE MACHO chased the leader from the outset, bid
outside that one after six furlongs, drew even late before being
caught on the wire. SPOTLIGHT SCAM came out start, set a solid pace
then resisted gamely to late before just hanging. SIR PRIZE U was
brushed at the break, made a middle move through the second turn but
failed to sustain that rally. ONE PUNCH SONNY raced wide early,
pressed the pace for six furlongs then faded. SLIEVE CENTURY failed
to menace. JZ'S GOLD SPLENDOR was no factor. CRAZY HORSE WILL showed
little. There was a stewards inquiry and claim of foul by the rider
of SIR PRIZE against SPOTLIGHT SCAM but there was no change in the
original order of finish. |

PRESENTS FOR BERTI moved up four wide into the
stretch then drove clear in the final furlong. KIM'S DIXIE TUNE was
unhurried early then circled rivals into the stretch and finished
well. COFFEE CAKE moved up along the inside on the far turn, awaited
room in upper stretch then finished well. R B HIGHER GROUND was well
placed close to the pace but lacked the needed closing response.
BRAVE BANDITO raced wide much of the trip. ASHES OF TIME moved up
outside rivals into the backstretch to prompt the pace then faded in
the drive. SLIEVE CENTURY failed to threaten. ORIGINAL RAY saved
ground setting the pace and weakened in the drive. PHAT ROB showed
little. R B LION KING was through early. |

|
HAVINABREW prompted the pace outside, took over
near the final turn and held on driving. FORT DENMARK commenced his
rally outside after half a mile then made a gradual late gain. ZONE
BUSTER raced off the pace while reserved, offered a mild rally but
was no match for the top pair. BRAVE BANDITO dropped far behind then
advanced extremely wide into the stretch. AT LEAST A MIRACLE set a
pressured pace inside for half a mile then stopped. MR. VANDERBILT
raced near the inside just off the pace and faltered. SLIEVE CENTURY
was always far behind. KANZEL made a brief bid after half a mile
then gave way readily. |

ALL TOGETHER chased the leader from the outset,
angled inside in upper stretch then wore down the leader inside the
final furlong. MEANDER broke alertly, set a fast pace then just hung
in the late stages while besting the rest. MR. MCCLAIN saved ground
to the stretch, angled outside then lodged a mild rally late. BLAZEN
was void of early speed then passed tiring rivals. BALTIC SHORE made
a middle move then flattened out. DETERMIND STAND raced evenly.
HAVINABREW chased into the stretch then faded. SLIEVE CENTURY failed
to menace. |

| Race Summary |
|
SLIEVE CENTURY moved up outside rivals on the far
turn then was under strong handling to run down the leaders and edge
clear late. TWISTER CROSSING, well placed racing close up outside,
moved up leaving the far turn and loomed boldly in the stretch but
was not good enough. CHASE MY HEELS, well placed racing close up
inside, was no match for the top two. CASEY'S EMBLEM prompted the
pace two wide, moved to challenge on the far turn then faded in the
drive. FINAL STRAW failed to menace. GRAND PAL saved ground setting
the pace for six furlongs then weakened. MISTY SURPRISE showed
little. ACROSS tired. |
