|
TIME OUT gained the lead early, raced three wide
under careful handling, was clear for the final furlong and
prevailed under solid left-handed encouragement. SNOW CAPPED,
forwardly placed near the inside early, raced in behind the winner
on the turn, came outside of TIME OUT for the drive but couldn't
offer the needed response while earning the place. ESTRELA PEGASUS,
in contention near the inside between foes early, lost a bit of
position nearing the stretch, continued between horses but could
gain only slightly in the late going. TRICK LANTERN, within striking
distance always and five wide, lacked a closing response. SCOTT'S
CAT, never far back and four or five wide, raced in closest
attendance to the winner into the final furlong and flattened out.
IRISH BULLDOG, within striking distance and racing near the inside
to the stretch, eased out four wide for the drive and was empty the
last eighth. C J'S COUNTRY, in contention near the inside between
foes early, was steadied nearing the five-sixteenths pole and
weakened thereafter. MAIN POINT raced near the inside and wasn't a
factor. PHONE TEASE, a bit sluggish to begin, never menaced and
faded in the stretch. |

UNBRIDLE ME, in hand along the inside from early
on,engaged front-running ADMIRALITY ISLAND a quarter-mile out and
bested that one under strong left-handed urging. ADMIRALTY ISLAND
gained the lead early, raced in the three path, managed a slight
edge into the final furlong and was outgamed. DYNAMIC STORM, never
far back and five wide, lacked a closing bid. QUIET MONEY, outrun
for nearly six furlongs while near the inside, eased out to raced
between foes five or six wide entering the lane and improved
position. SPARK OF HUMOR, within striking distance and five or six
wide, flattened out when the test came. BLACK JACK ATTACK angled in
early to press pacesetting ADMIRALTY ISLAND, held on well to the far
turn and weakened thereafter. SCOTT'S CAT, near the inside between
foes, weakened in the drive. WHISKEY PARK bobbled while breaking
sluggishly, was used early to gain a forward position and tired
nearing the lane. MYTH MAN was never close. PROMINENCE raced in
contention five or six wide for six furlongs and weakened.

|
CLASSIC CAMPAIGN, in hand near the inside from the
start, saved ground for six furlongs, eased out between foes three
or four wide nearing the final quarter, took over at the eighth pole
and drove clear. ARGENTO, never far back and tracking the leaders
four or five wide, moved with the winner while outside that one on
the second turn, loomed a solid threat for the drive but wasn't good
enough. CHIEF COMMANDER inherited the lead between calls on the
first turn when SPINFIRE bore out, raced forwardly after
surrendering the edge to that one, edged to a slight advantage
between calls in the upper stretch, lost the lead to the winner at
the furlong pole and weakened. POCO BUENO, lightly rated while
following the leaders in a contending position five or six wide,
lacked a late response. SCOTT'S CAT, unhurried while maneuvered near
the inside, saved ground to the stretch, eased out four wide for the
drive, reached a contending position at the furlong grounds and
flattened out. GOLD MINISTER, in behind horses three or four wide
most of the way, never rallied. SPINFIRE bore out seven or eight
wide on the first turn, was straightened entering the backstretch,
opened a clear lead, showed the way to the stretch and faltered.
MAJOR ASCOT tired upon going a half. CHIRINDA FOREST was outrun.

|
RUSH BAY three wide around the first turn, settled
five wide down the backstretch, moved up four wide around the second
turn, bid outside PARKER VALLEY nearing the furlong marker, gained
the edge and proved clearly best. NEW HAVEN HARBOR angled in going
to the first turn, settled until entering the second turn, advanced
for the drive, got steered out inside the furlong marker and closed
late. PARKER VALLEY settled early, raced three wide down the
backstretch and around the second turn, loomed in upper stretch and
then was no match for the top two. GENERAL CHARLEY stalked GULLY
WASHER from early on, bid around the second turn, drifted in after
turning for home and then weakened late. SCOTT'S CAT inside early,
moved out down the backstretch, continued out and lacked a finish.
HE'S ROYAL DEE raced inside to mid stretch, got steered out and
could make little impact. GULLY WASHER set the pace to nearing the
drive and then weakened once overtaken. |

COSMIC KRIS stalked IRISH SONG from early on,
ranged up turning for home, took over a furlong out and then was all
out to hold on. FIRE WOOD settled off the rail, rallied four wide
for the drive, loomed outside COSMIC KRIS inside the final
sixteenth, did not have enough late but lasted for second. INCOME
reserved early, raced between foes down the backstretch, lacked room
nearing mid stretch, got steered out but was too late. YOU FUNNY GUY
crossed to the rail early, continued inside until midway down the
backstretch, eased out before the second turn, came inside in upper
stretch, angled out and gave a late try. SCOTT'S CAT devoid speed,
circled foes in the lane and hung. IRISH SONG set the pace to the
drive, was headed and weakened. ZAMNATION angled in early, gained
the inside around the first turn, raced close up and then lacked a
rally. SKIP FIGHTER angled to the rail early, saved ground
thereafter and then faded. SUNSET BLUES showed little. DEBONAIRO
forwardly placed three wide, stopped in the drive.

| Race Summary |

BIG B IN THE LEAD allowed to settle, advanced
approaching the second turn, lacked room approaching the drive, got
steered out for room before mid stretch, rallied determinedly and
got up. DREW LIL SLEW trailed until before the drive, circled foes
for the drive, bid before mid stretch, gained the edge but was out
kicked. FIRE WOOD allowed to settle, loomed four wide for the drive
and then did not have enough. LITTLE RIVER BANK close up outside the
leaders, bid three wide around the turn and then failed to sustain
his bid. SCOTT'S CAT close up, came between foes around the second
turn and then hung late. FIELDING vied for the lead from the inside
until before the drive and weakened. SNOW MORE set a pressured pace
and then stopped. ISNT IT RICH settled off rail, surged to the lead
from the outside before the drive and then flattened out.
