GUIDEBOOK had speed three deep then outside a rival, angled in and set the pace toward the inside, came off the rail into the stretch and held under urging. PROPOSED stalked outside a rival, angled in leaving the backstretch, bid inside in the stretch and was second best. SIMPLY BECAUSE broke through the gate before the start, had speed inside then stalked the pace, continued outside the runner-up on the second turn and bested the others. DARK BEAUTY chased outside a rival then three deep on the second turn and lacked the needed rally. QUIET SHINE chased outside a rival then inside, came out in the stretch and improved position. RUN FOR DESSERT allowed to settle outside a rival then a bit off the rail on the turn, came out in the stretch and did not rally. CLICKETY CAT broke alertly then dropped back off the rail, came a bit wide into the stretch and failed to menace. MISS THIRTYFOUR D had good early speed and dueled between horses, stalked between foes leaving the turn and weakened in the stretch. GUIDEBOOK vied for command three deep between horses early, dropped back approaching and on the turn, gave way and was eased in the stretch.

RUN FOR DESSERT chased off the rail, came three deep into the stretch, rallied to the front under urging past midstretch and gamely prevailed. PRELUDE TO PUDDLES sped to the early lead and angled in, set the pace a bit off the rail, dueled along the fence into and on the turn and into the stretch, inched away again in midstretch but could not quite match the winner late. PINLOCHLE unhurried off the rail on the backstretch, moved up some on the turn, came out into the stretch and picked up the show late. IMARI (JPN) saved ground stalking the pace, came out leaving the turn and into the stretch and weakened. FORLOVEOFSHIRLEY stalked outside a rival then bid alongside a foe and dueled into and on the turn and into the stretch and weakened in the final furlong.
