AGNES THE GREAT set the early pace, was joined by MS JANUS near the half-mile pole, vied outside of that rival on the turn, inched clear near the quarter-pole, extended the lead in upper stretch and maintained a safe advantage under steady handling. Race Summary

FINAL TRICK was jostled at the start, chased the pace while three wide, battled determinedly in the stretch and wore down COVERED IN CLOVER late under vigorous left hand urging. COVERED IN CLOVER set the pace while off the rail, extended the lead in upper stretch, remained clear into the final sixteenth but was caught in the final strides. SHEZMORETHANREADY was away awkwardly, chased the pace on the inside, saved ground into the stretch and gave way. FANCIE raced towards the rear of the field, moved closer while off the rail on the turn, steadied when blocked near the quarter-pole then lacked the needed response. MISS MINT JULEP broke inward at the start then was ridden along, raced three wide early on the turn, shifted four wide near the five-sixteenths marker, continued four wide into the stretch and tired. ABILENA lacked early speed, raced off the rail on the turn and never reached contention. IT'S VALID was urged along on the outside, raced four to five wide on the turn and came up empty. I BELIEVE IN MUSIC raced off the pace, saved ground on the turn and failed to threaten. HADLEY'S NOTE was void of speed, saved ground on the turn and showed little. MAL'S MAGIC broke inward and jostled with FINAL TRICK, raced three to four wide on the turn and was outrun.
