JEALOUS PROFIT three deep early, chased between horses then a bit off the rail, found the inside leaving the backstretch and could not offer the necessary response. ECRU EGRET was allowed to settle a bit off the rail and failed to menace. KOBAYASHI bumped, steadied sharply and squeezed back at the start, pulled inside, dropped back nearing the second turn, gave way and was eased in the stretch. A claim of foul by the rider of the runner-up against the winner for alleged interference at the start was not allowed by the stewards, who ruled the contact between that pair was not sufficient to alter the original order of finish.
