Race Summary

BRIVIESCA (GB), never far back while following the leaders six wide under rating, inched to challenge approaching the final quarter, took over, drew clear, bobbled leaving the sixteenth pole while drifting out and held sway under strong handling. CAPE TOWN LASS, in contention always, eased out seven wide on the backstretch, edged in a bit on the far turn, came out again to be eight wide for the drive, loomed menacingly outside the winner but couldn't muster the needed response. LOUVE ROYALE (IRE), off the inside from the beginning and in hand, raced seven wide on the backstretch, continued well out in the course entering the upper stretch but could gain only slightly at the end. STRIKE ME LUCKY tracked front-running BEAU HAPPY from early on while five wide, remained a factor into the upper stretch but failed to respond. OCTOBER GLORY (IRE), five wide early while unhurried, angled to the rail to make a run on the far turn, was asked for her best nearing the final quarter but was empty when straightened into the stretch. BEAU HAPPY gained a clear advantage early, relaxed on an easy lead through modest fractions while two or three wide and weakened a quarter-mile out. JORDYN MACOMA gained a forward position at once, raced five or six wide, pulled the rider up after front-running BEAU HAPPY upon going a mile, battled on about even terms to the lane and faltered. SHEER LUCK, four or five wide, tired on the far turn.

Race Summary

DELTA PRINCESS, up close inside the dueling leaders early while under rating, continued in that manner into mid-stretch, worked her way out five wide about the sixteenth pole, then responded to brisk urging to be along in time. SHACONAGE, well off the inside early while gaining a narrow advantage, dueled outside of MARWOOD, lost the edge to that one entering the backstretch between calls, continued to battle with that one into deep stretch, gained a slight edge late but failed to contain DELTA PRINCESS in the final yards. MARWOOD, away in good order to contest the pace inside of SHACONAGE, displaced that one on the lead briefly between calls early on the backstretch, took over again just before going six furlongs, was headed in deep stretch by SHACONAGE and wasn't good enough. KATDOGAWN (GB), a bit sluggish to begin, quickly gained a forward position three or four wide in hand, continued four wide in a prominent position into the final furlong and flattened out. PAD THE WALLET, reserved near the inside early, was never far back and failed to offer a closing account. CAPE TOWN LASS, unhurried early but within striking distance four wide, raced within striking distance into the final furlong and came up empty.

Race Summary

DELTA PRINCESS, reserved soon after the start and angled in four wide, reached contention as the field bunched approaching the stretch, circled horses eight wide and was under urging to prevail. SHACONAGE, up close from the outset and five or six wide to the far turn, made the lead between calls leaving the backstretch, was headed from the inside by ERHU just before going six furlongs, regained the advantage in the upper stretch, then failed to contain the winner's surge. ERHU, never far back, raced near the inside, rallied inside to reach the front on the far turn but weakened nearing the final furlong. CAPE TOWN LASS, unhurried early and four wide, was asked for her best at the five-sixteenths pole, remained a factor into the final furlong and failed to fire. PRETTY JANE gained the lead early, raced five wide while making the pace, edged in a bit nearing the end of the backstretch, when displaced, held on well until the final quarter and weakened. DYNAMIC CAT settled near the inside, came out five wide entering the stretch and had no rally. SPARKLING HUMOR popped the gate open prior to the start but was in the hands of the assistant starter. During the running, SPARKLING HUMOR forced the pace between foes to the end of the backstretch and weakened.

Race Summary

ANGARA (GB), bumped by MY DEAR LADY (ARG) at the start and briefly in tight quarters, was rated in behind a pedestrian pace, went along under confident handling, eased out nearing the final quarter, was checked for a stride behind STORMIN' DAINA when that one drifted out in the upper stretch, rallied between horses four wide, took over under hand urging, then was gathered up very late. CAPE TOWN LASS settled three or four wide early, moved up outside the winner six wide for the drive and was second best. STRIKE ME LUCKY, in hand while followed the leaders four or five wide, came out seven or eight wide for the drive, loomed a solid threat for the last eighth but lacked a response. STORMIN' DAINA, up close in hand while tracking the pace four wide from early on, accelerated to the front nearing the final quarter, drifted out seven or eight wide upon straightening into the lane and was empty thereafter. LITERACY, in front briefly after the start, surrendered the advantage to MY DEAR LADY (ARG), eased outside that one three wide, moved to challenge on the final turn, regained the edge for a stride or two, then weakened at the quarter-mile ground. MY DEAR LADY (ARG) leaned in bumping the winner at the break, gained the lead early, managed a slight advantage for nearly 10 furlongs and faltered. BALLISTIC BABE, checked in tight after the start, raced near the inside while outrun to the stretch, came out five wide but never menaced.

Race Summary

CAPE TOWN LASS, away in good order, relaxed nicely when eased back to the inside, saved ground until nearing the final quarter, eased out between foes to rally, took over leaving the eighth pole and drove clear under strong handling. NOBLE STELLA (GER) gained the lead early, controlled moderate fractions from near the inside, made the pace into the final furlong and couldn't handle the winner late while superior to the others. KRASNAYA, well placed in behind pacesetting NOBLE STELLA (GER) early, eased out three or four wide upon going seven furlongs, gained almost even terms for the lead nearing the stretch but flattened out soon after. SKIP POKER drifted out at the start, quickly recovered, was rated near the inside, raced in a forward position, was asked for more leaving the half-mile ground, swung out five wide for the drive run and failed to fire. FEELING SO PRETTY, within striking distance while racing between horses three or four wide to the stretch, flattened out when straightened for the drive. RICH SENSE, rated in a striking position four wide for 10 furlongs, weakened thereafter. NASTY AND CRAFTY chased front-running NOBLE STELLA (GER) four wide for six furlongs and faded.

SHADOW CAST unhurried early, raced out from the inside down the backstretch, was asked for run entering the second turn, responded to steady urging to bid inside the leaders before the final sixteenth and proved clearly best. BIJOU between foes early, raced inside around the second turn, continued inside and for the drive and rallied late. SISTER SWANK raced inside to nearing the drive, angled out in upper stretch, took over outside IDE BE A LADY before mid stretch and then had no final kick. CAPE TOWN LASS forced in at the break when MAY GATOR drifted in, recovered to saved ground until entering the second turn, moved out in the lane and showed late interest. HUMOROUS MISS devoid speed, circled foes for the drive and was gaining late. MAY GATOR veered into CAPE TOWN LASS at the break, was straightened early, raced closest to IDE BE A LADY until mid stretch and then flattened out. IDE BE A LADY set the pace to the drive, was overtaken and gave way. MY MISTY PRINCESS raced wide to the drive and retreated.

Race Summary

RIVER BELLE (GB), lightly rated near the inside early, was never far back, angled four wide entering the stretch, was between horses in the late going and proved gamely best under strong handling. LENATAREESE, unhurried early while in behind horses four or five wide, came out seven wide for the drive, loomed boldly through deep stretch and missed. CAPE TOWN LASS, outrun for a half while near the inside, continued near the inside around the far turn, came out between four wide entering the stretch, angled to the hedge in deep stretch, bumped with a tiring BLACK ROCK ROAD, reached the front briefly, then was outfinished. SISTER SWANK, rated between foes early and four wide, advanced five wide into the stretch, was prominent in deep stretch but gained only slightly. JINNY'S GOLD, never far back while following the leaders four or five wide, took over on the far turn, managed a clear advantage into the final furlong and faltered. BLACK ROCK ROAD contested the pace inside from early on, held on well until the final quarter, weakened in the drive and was bumped in deep stretch by CAPE TOWN LASS. TOPANGO, near the inside, failed to rally. CASA NEKIA forced the pace around the first turn while three abreast and couldn't keep pace after going a half. SAHMKINDAWONDERFUL tired midway on the backstretch. WITH AFFECTION, close up between foes early while attending the pace, continued in a striking position for six furlongs and weakened thereafter.

Race Summary

OLD FASHION GIRL, never far back while following the pace four or five wide, wrested command entering the upper stretch, settled into the final furlong with a clear advantage and was kept to her task. KEY TO THE CAT, unhurried early while five or six wide, came a bit wider into the lane, was just off the winner for the final furlong and couldn't offer the needed response as second best. SAREE (GB), never far back, lacked a late response and was six wide in the drive. ERHU chased front-running ROSE HUNTER from early on while four or five wide, briefly reached the front between calls approaching the stretch but tired in the drive. CAPE TOWN LASS, unhurried early, offered a mild gain while off the inside. SONG TRACK failed to rally in an even effort. DREW AWAY broke slow, was outrun to the stretch and improved position while unable to menace. MISS GOOSEBUMPS was outrun to the lane and passed tired foes. OCTOBER GLORY (IRE) tired on the far turn. SAHMKINDAWONDERFUL raced in contention to the stretch and flattened out. SKIP POKER was outrun. ROSE HUNTER gained the lead early, raced near the inside, showed the way until midway on the far turn and faded.

Truffle, 10/16, msw 7 dirt  (assumes swelling on stomach isn't serious) this is a prep for 11/7 or 11/18 on the turf at Churchill

Glenrothes 10/23, msw 8.5 dirt  Should run credible but probably can't win.  Gives us Churchill options msw 11/11 and 11/24 or 50clm on 11/27 if we need it.  I think he will be an alc. horse

Hats Off To Thee 10/23, 7 dirt, 30 clm, Paul thinks she is pretty good and may talk me into 50clm 11/11 at Churchill.  Your price is still basis 30 if she wins.

Cape Town Lass 10/23, 8.5T stakes 100K   It will be tough, if we chicken out there is 9T 10/24 alc.  Also have several Churchill options 11/7 and 11/26 alc. and if by chance she would win the stakes at Keeneland there is a 150K on 11/20

Up Anchor 10/30 9T and Churchill 11/5 and 11/25.  It all depends on how sound he is after this race.  If he looks bad there is a 62.5 on 11/5.  If he would win on 10/30 there is a stakes, 150K on 11/21

Secret Crush 11/6 30 clm at Churchill.  She needs a win and we need to give her the chance.  she has some small issues (slight heat in knees after works, slight filling in ankles) that makes me like this spot.

Ask Molly 11/26 mdn 50.  Also a mile which might be the right spot for her.  She shouldn't go more than that based on breeding but this might be a chance for her to close well.

Eyes On Eddy 11/26 msw

On about 11/30 everything will go to Fairgrounds unless we have a maiden we want to try and break at Turfway then ship that horse.

Hope that Borrego runs big and goes to Hollywood Derby on 11/28

I would expect Trouvere and Barometer Rising to star in about 6-8 weeks, with Appomattox somewhere along that time.  Given possibilities for little setbacks it could be 8+ weeks for somebody.  They are going well and Beau is excited about the boys, thinks Appomattox will be OK or better.
